Funding Bulletin

The Office of Research Services (ORS) facilitates the submission of all grant funding applications for Ontario Tech University Faculty Members. ORS will advertise relevant research funding opportunities in the online Funding Bulletin and will inform about specific program requirements, which may include internal deadlines or an internal competition for funding programs with application quotas. ORS will also circulate relevant funding agency news and announcements via the bulletin page. 

Grants Officers are available to provide strategic advice on research funding opportunities, perform comprehensive reviews of applications, liaise with funding agencies on your behalf, advise on relevant university policies, and agency policies. At minimum, Grants Officers are required to perform an administrative review of any grant application submitted by Ontario Tech faculty members to ensure compliance with university and funding agency policies, verify completeness of application materials and to coordinate any institutional requirements (letters of support, institutional signatures, etc.).

For grant opportunities with a fixed deadline, please notify your Grants Officer as soon as possible of your intent to apply and submit the full application, including all attachments, for administrative review a minimum of 10 business days before the agency deadline. Please note that certain funding programs that have more complex requirements have an earlier internal deadline. Consult the internal deadlines listed in the bulletin below.

For grant opportunities with rolling deadlines (such as NSERC Alliance):

  • Please notify your Grants Officer of your intent to apply a minimum of six weeks before the desired submission date, and 
  • Submit the full application, including all attachments, for administrative review a minimum of 10 business days before the desired submission date. 

Please note that at certain high-volume times (September to November), we will require more time to review and submit applications with no external deadline.
